On this Memorial Day I ask one small favor.
On this Memorial Day I ask one small favor.
Please take a moment to think of all the Americans who have died fighting for our country.

That’s what this day is REALLY about.

Memorial Day always reminds me of the Crosses in Lafayette.
I’ve gone there several times over the years.
It’s a sobering reminder of the horrible cost of war.

American Revolution: 25,000 deaths

Civil War: 625,000 deaths

World War 1: 116,516 deaths

World War 2: 405,399 deaths

Korean War: 36,516 deaths

Persian Gulf War: 258 deaths

Afghanistan War: 2,356 deaths

Iraq War: 4,489 deaths

I hope you have a great Memorial Day.
Appreciate the day.
Appreciate that you are alive.

And remember those who died.
Remember those who gave up their lives for all of us.
