Cassie lost her husband, Hospital Corpsman 1st class Ryan Lohrey on July 10th, 2017 to a KC-130 plane crash while headed to AZ for Military training. Cassie and Ryan had only been married for a month when the tragic event happened. Three weeks later, she found out that she was expecting, due March 2018! This baby has given her a reason to celebrate life again and not just walk through it. She decided that the best way to announce the gender of this special gift would be to honor her husband's memory and his service on Veteran's Day. She asked a few of his friends and team members to help with the announcement. The word spread and more wanted to be involved in this special event. It soon grew to 16 servicemen to help her announce the gender of this very special baby. What an epic gender reveal! It was very evident to me what a special man Ryan was and how many lives he had touched. Her home is filled with pictures of her and Ryan and I have no doubt that this sweet baby girl will know just how much her Daddy loves her, even from Heaven. Given the sticky logistics that were not hammered out in the detail that was required, Cassie and Baby Lohrey are financially on their own! The official paperwork had not been updated of their marriage so she received no benefits after his death. Her sister Courtney has setup a GoFund me page to try to raise money for her and the baby as they are now on their own. This baby needs our support and will truly need the necessary "village" surrounding her to fill the massive shoes that her Daddy cannot on this earth! Please donate if you are touched by this story. Any little bit helps! https://www.gofundme.com/4j8eut4 "God promises to make something good out of the storms that bring devastation to your life." -Romans 8:28
