If conservationists want to succeed with helping rhinos from being poached to extinction, they'll have to begin by transforming their own attitudes, focusing less on asking people to sacrifice their money to help to save the rhino, and focusing much more on smart solutions that solve the rhino poaching crisis without asking so much from public.

Rhinos can pay for themselves. There wouldn't be a reason to poach a rhino if the rhino horn was available on the open market. It's time to educate the world that rhino's life is far more precious than its horn. Time to drop the international prohibition on trade in rhino horn and start legally manage the trade by harvesting horn, where a rhino stays alive and the horn grows back.
