Raven Walton suffers from gastroparesis (gp). She also teaches dance to young children as well as competes in beauty pageants where she proudly displays the scars on her abdomen from the many surgeries she has had. She says she feels no pain when she is dancing. She is 20-yrs-old and has had 7 surgeries to date. She expects to have one every two years to replace the gastric pacemaker that helps push the food through her digestive tract. She is one of the 'lucky' gp sufferers. Many cannot function as she does, due to the social anxiety of not knowing when our bodies will betray us by way of purging the food out of our system from one end or the other of our digestive tract. It is not fun. Many gp patients have Digestive Tract Paralysis (DTP) and have to have tubes put in their GI tract to provide them with nourishment. These people are affectionately known as 'tubies'. Please help us get Raven on with Ellen in hopes of bringing national attention to this horrific disease, by commenting and voting.
