Firefighter son gets taken to school on a firetruck by late dads colleagues
Description
My late husband, Christopher, was taken to school on his first full day of kindergarten, by his dad of the Sullivan County Volunteer Fire Department, on a fire truck! Christopher was so proud of that day, he grinned and shared that story with us many times. He said that everyone thought it was so cool that he and his brother were taken to school on a fire truck. Christopher mentioned many times how neat it would be if we were able to make that happen for our boy, Cooper, on his first day of school and me being his wife and the mother of our boy would not let that chance pass us by. I have made it one of my goals, to make as many things as Christopher and I talked about happen, this being one of many. I contacted fellow brother and assistant Chief Josh Kemp and asked that we could make this happen if at all possible, with fingers crossed and Kemp made it happen! Christopher was killed in a motorcycle crash in May, 21 years old when he died. This will be a memory that Cooper will remember for a lifetime, just like daddy did! Cooper dreams to be a fireman one day and this mama will not stand in front of that dream!
