BREAKING: Maryland high school’s resource officer being hailed a HERO for ending shooting

A shooting this morning at a Great Mills High School in Great Mills, Maryland, left three injured, including the alleged shooter, according to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office. The St. Mary’s County school was on lockdown and students are being evacuated, soon to be reunited with their parents.






A hero has emerged in the wake of the incident. The school’s resource officer, Deputy Blaine Gaskill, is reportedly being hailed “a true hero” for “saving the lives of the students in the school.” Tweets are emerging crediting Gaskill, the SRO listed on the school’s website, for confronting the gunman and ending the shooting.
