“This is something that doesn’t happen very often for us 911 dispatchers.”

Last month Megan Navarro helped deliver a baby boy over the phone.
And this week that family came to her work.
Megan gave them a tour and also got to hold the baby.

Megan wrote:

Very rarely do we get calls that end in joy.
Very rarely do we get calls where we know about the outcome.

Very rarely do we get to deliver a baby.
And very rarely do we ever get to meet someone we have communicated with over the phone.

I however, am so fortunate that I can check all of those off my dispatch bucket list thanks to this sweet mommy and her beautiful baby boy.

It was such a pleasure meeting you and your little family and I am so happy that we were able to do this for the first time together.

Welcome to the world Nolan

I’m glad I was able to post this because I think that sometimes 911 dispatchers get overlooked.

They are crucial to law enforcement.
And the bottom line is that a good dispatcher can save lives just like a first responder out in the field.

I liked what Megan’s husband Felix posted afterward in all caps:
WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS HOW PROUD I AM OF MY WIFE!

I couldn’t agree more Felix.
