"Sometimes..."
Description
Ukulele and poetry by me - Patrick L.

Sometimes I forget that I am here...
Sometimes I smile just because the hue of the sunlight reminds me of a day when I was young.
Sometimes the cool breeze of the air conditioner across my head fills the sails of my soul and suddenly life is and endless sea of possibility, not fear.

For those moments I am incredibly thankful.
For all the times you bring me back from a hurricane of emotion with your soft words,
I am thankful...

But sometimes, the fire burns so dimly you wouldn't know of it's once proud strength,
save all the burnt wood strewn about the ground, like failed attemps to solve a maze in pen.
Squigles of disappointment and struggle close port to freedom and I watch them fall,
gracefully into the ocean...
Like petals of a flower, bound by fate...

Oh how the splashing hurts as Hope drowns, she was so beautiful in her gate.
Her silent song through the trees no longer soothes broken by the Banshee's cry!
and I cry...
Walled in and alone...
I cry out to any and all who'll hear!
But none can over the wailing,
The sailing...

Now stagnant as I grow used to it all... it's clear...

The inferno turned matchtip holds all its' former glory,
for Patience has no gate, no story.
He sits in his chair bearded by Father Time and twice as old, and waits...
And waits...

Tear drops down cheeks like robin's eggs, Acceptance bares her young,
though few survive her flight...
How it does glaze one's sight...
And begs...
At every yard of my hundred yard stare, so still
and still...

Volition parries consequence
Fenced-in fencing against self and bricks
Not possibility
Not inability
The fence
The better man spares the lesser, at his expense.
A broken gaze loses phase with Why, as he hides...
Lacking explanation...
woe the sensation...

Now less than before, with no settled score,
I sit...
Alone...
That's it.
