This is amazing.
The three children of an officer who was killed in the line of duty in New York are getting a new home for free.
Officer Miosotis Familia was shot at point blank range in July.
A gunman ambushed her on a street in the Bronx.
Now the Daily News, the Tunnel to Towers Foundations and Skyview Apartments LLCV have raised enough money to buy them a three bedroom co-op in the Bronx.
In all more than 800,000 dollars was raised to buy them their new home.
And according to the Daily News their new home will be completely furnished.
A trust fund has also been established to cover the cost of maintenance fees and property taxes.
The developer told the Daily News:
“We were able to expedite their renovation before our planned work on other units in order to facilitate their move-in before Christmas.”
The officer’s three kids are so grateful.
Genesis is 20.
Delilah and Peter are twins.
They are 12.
Genesis told the Daily News:
I owe it to my mom to make sure that the three of us will be taken care of ... in a loving and healthy environment.”
I’m so happy for them.
And I think what the Daily News, the Tunnel to Towers Foundations and Skyview Apartments LLCV did was outstanding.
My heart goes out to Genesis, Delilah and Peter.
Hopefully this will make their Christmas at least a little better.
