To the Woman Who Hasn't Looked at Her Naked Self in the Mirror in Over a Year
To the woman who hasn't looked at her naked self in the mirror in over a year, the woman with the eating disorder because society has told her she wasnt beautiful enough, the woman who just had that beautiful baby and counts her stretch marks, to the woman who has avoided wearing sleevless shirts and shorts in the summer, and to you- especially, who was told that you were unworthy of love. You are beyond words. I have been thinking alot about you lately and the untapped potential within you. In the u.s. 67% of women wear a size 14 or higher (some studies say 16 or higher) and yet only 8% of these curvy beauties are represented in mainstream media. We have failed to represent the majority and that has resulted in women, amazingly gorgeous women, looking at themselves so harshly, believing that they are flawed- thinking that they are whats wrong with society when in reality, We are lovely, stunning and spectacular, just the way we are. I am rallying for the minimizing of female gender stereotypes while supporting and uplifting women in the community and across America. I hope as you follow my project over the next 6 weeks you are encouraged by the stories of different women who have their own testimonies to share from different perspectives and backgrounds and above all,i hope that you feel represented.
P.s. I would love to hear your story too & if you believe in this project and want to encourage others to do the same, please share our posts and follow the movement. (you can also follow the stories on instagram @leni_kei)
