Description
"I was front row at the Route 91 festival when the shooting started. Chris was standing right next to me. We stood next to each other from the start of the concert until the shooting happened. We heard what sounded like fireworks going off and I remember wondering how someone would get them smuggled into the concert area. When everyone ducked down after the shooting started, Chris grabbed onto me and leaned over me. He is a Marine veteran from Southern California. He shielded my body when we were all crouched at the rail during the gunfire. He could see the panic rising in my eyes and my fear but instead of feeding my fear he kept calmly telling me we would be fine and everything was alright. After we got over the rail we lost contact but we ended up finding him again behind the Luxor in a group of people the police had told to stay put. He gave me a big ‘dad’ hug that I will never forget. I have yet to be able to reach out to him but I will find him."
