When a Georgia mom went out to dinner with her son, she didn’t realize that she would be teaching him one of the most important life lessons, which is to have compassion for others who are less fortunate than yourself. Bonnie Monroe’s son pointed out that there was a homeless man approaching diners at their tables and begging for food. While he gave up before reaching their table, Monroe took it upon herself to approach him.
Worried he’d further bother the patrons, he told Monroe he would eat their scraps afterwards in the alley way, but that wasn’t acceptable. Instead, Monroe told the homeless man named Byron to take a seat with her and her son. “We ate, laughed, and even danced a little we enjoyed our night together,” she wrote on a Facebook post that amassed 99,000 likes and over 50,000 shares – and growing!
