Hi EllenNation. My daughter is 16 and she loves Ellen! She is currently fighting stage 4 ovarian cancer. She is in the hospital getting 5 days of inpatient chemo every 3 weeks. (actually every 2 because the whole first week she receives treatment) She has already lost all of her hair and she's been feeling pretty down and depressed. The chemo she is taking literally cripples her. It's awful to watch. This is also her 2nd diagnosis this year. In Jan, 2017 Alexis had a 7.5 pound tumor removed from her abdomen.
It's been quite the year for someone so young. Not only my daughter, but my mother is currently fighting cancer as well (breast cancer), my mother has to walk to some treatments because she doesn't have a car. My family has just had it handed to us lately. I know if Ellen were to reach out to my daughter/family it would lift their spirits in such an amazing way. It couldn't happen to a more deserving person. Alexis is touching the world with her amazing personality and drive through all of her battles. Even going through one of the toughest times in her life, she still wants to help others. It has always been important to her to make others smile, even through her tears. Through out this process, Alexis has been bullied, questioned, and has faced some horrible comments on social media from her high-school peers. She has remained positive through it all saying that we should just "pray for them". I'd love to give back to her with this amazing opportunity as she is such an angel here on earth. Her smile is known to light up a room, and she wears it through all of the pain. She is a true WARRIOR and is showing the world how to FIGHT LIKE A GIRL! ❤
