First of all, thank you all for your outpouring of love and support for our sweet girl. It's been such an amazing day today and we are so appreciative of having so many of you on our team! Here is just a little glimpse into our first day of trying the speaking valve. Addie was pretty wiped from 4 hours of appointments, but make sure you watch til the end!
I will also say, today was the first time I've heard Addie cry since August 27th, 2014 (the other video) the day after she was born. It was the first and only time I got to hear her voice (other than a traumatizing failed extubation at nearly 3 months old).
We take so much for granted, y'all. The Lord has blessed us with the gift of speech and it's something I took for granted until we had Addie. I'm so grateful to have been given such a wonderful gift today. Babbling and vocal play is her first step and will get even better once she gets her cochlear implant at the end of the month.
