High School Basketball Team Gives Final Shot to Student With Special Needs, and the Crowd Went Wild
Late in the school’s game on Friday night against Norman North, the Norman girls basketball team called for its best substitution of the night. Lainy Fredrickson entered the game to arena-shaking applause. The ovation never stopped, and she was given the ball to take the team’s final shot in Norman’s 57-35 win.

As soon as Fredrickson nailed the shot, the sideline erupted. Players and students jumped around while she took her victory lap. Serious credit to Norman North, too. The team was obviously upset to lose a rivalry game, but even opposing players couldn’t help but get caught up in the moment:
