I am writing this in a desperate plea for my daughter. I am writing this with a broken heart and tears because I may have wasted too much time. Ivy is 3 and she is running out of time to live. For the past 3 years, our family has worked so hard at keeping her healthy and each day we just survive...Ivy has never lived. My purpose for reaching out is to bring awareness to Rett Syndrome and how it is taking our girls. It's a silent thief that stole my daughter, piece by piece. Ivy used to sit alone. And she played patty cake and said "mama"...within months, all of that was taken and replaced with seizures and pain and terror. Rett syndrome leaves these girls mentally intact, so Ivy is aware that she is in a prison...her prison is her body. Don't let her suffering and joy and her life be in vain. Help Ivy's Army be a voice for girls that have something to say, but no way to say it. I know our followers from our page, Mighty Ivy, have pounded your website with nominations. They love her. They have seen the suffering firsthand and they know the urgency for Ivy. They know the urgency for ALL people suffering with Rett. Help Mighty Ivy leave a Mighty legacy. She deserves to be remembered and honored. To know her is to love her. Just ask her adoring followers...all 11,500 of them.
We love you, Ellen. We love what you do and who you are. You're a light in a dark place for families like us. Thank you.
