Meet the Foleys: Chris, Elizabeth, Alexis, Austin, Peyton, and Chase. Elizabeth gave birth to Chase on 9/5/11. During Chase's 1 month, wellness checkup an emergency ultrasound was ordered identifying concerns of an abnormally large liver and spleen. Chase was transferred to Upstate Medical in Syracuse NY, where he underwent further testing. The diagnosis was acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). This form of cancer is rare and difficult to treat in infants. At one month old Chase underwent 6 weeks of blood transfusions and chemotherapy.
The Foley's decided as a family, to move to Albany to follow treatment with the pediatric oncology team at Albany Medical Center. This immediate uprooting for Chase's treatment has been difficult on the family. With the love of family and friends all over the East Coast, and the graciousness of the Ronald McDonld House in Albany, Chase and his family were able to weather the storm. Chase was in remission for 2 years.
During another routine follow up test at "clinic" on 4/4/2013, it was found that the cancer blasts were back and Chase's body had officially relapsed. The family will be fighting ALL cancer with chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and now a bone marrow transplantation. Chase's family, friends, and fans are ready to stand bye his side as his new road map unfolds and the battle begins. Please use this page to share your support and love for Chase.
