Ellen Ticket Noification Raising Awareness for Smith-Magenis Syndrome
Description
We're trying to bring some attention to Smith-Magenis Syndrome, which only affects 1 in 25,000 births. Our friend Jacob was born with SMS. Like other kids with this disorder, he's one of the sweetest, and most fun kids to hang out with - but it can be tough for him. Many kids with SMS are non-verbal for their whole lives. Like children with autism, they can have sensory processing issues, and become overwhelmed quickly. Children with SMS often require several forms of support, including physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. Support is often required throughout an affected person's lifetime.
