Special Family Donates iPads to Children's Hospital in Honor of Daughter
Months after losing their five-year old daughter to cancer, one family is keeping her memory alive with a big donation to a local hospital.
On Monday, with the help of Apple, Inc., Mike and Maria Rosploch donated 14 iPads to the Children's Hospital of Illinois. Their daugther Lilly passed away on January 31 and since then, they've made a point to give back in her honor.
This isn't their first donation or event in Lilly’s honor, but it's one her family holds close to their hearts.
“Whenever we would come in-patient or come to the clinic it always had to be the iPad,” said Maria Rosploch. “We had to check to make sure that it was packed and that we had the cord in case we needed to ‘juice it up’ as she would say.”
Lilly was diagnosed with stage four cancer on her third birthday. Her parents said that they hope the iPads will be a good distraction for patients and their families.
