The Story
Join Smiles for Scarlette and help the Tipton family during this difficult time with medical expenses and overall financial support. As her condition is extremely rare, our goal is help find a cure. Help us bring baby Scarlette home and keep those smiles coming!

Scarlette was born with an abnormally large left arm. It measures approximately 3 times the size of her right arm. Currently she has been diagnosed a vague diagnosis of Sarcoma called Undifferenciated Spindle Cell Sarcoma. She has, what the doctors call, a "precurser" in her body that mutates into cancer. She recently had her arm, shoulder, clavical, and scapula amputated so they could save her life. They also removed all the skin surrounding the left side of her torso and had to do skin grafts to cover the wound. Doctors are saying that her case is so rare that books will be written about her!

At only 1 year old Scarlette has spent most of her life in the hospital having had 19 surgeries, blood transfusions and numerous invasive tests. While most 1 year olds are walking around, learning to talk, and eating al sorts of foods, Scarlette is confined to a hospital crib and has not reached her basic milestones. She is still unable to stand, walk on her own, and is still on pureed foods. She loves to crawl around the house though!

This family of four is in serious need of financial support. With unforeseen medical emergencies, surgeries and general trips to the hospital, this family is struggling to keep their head above water as their source of income is dwindling. With Scarlette's unknown future, our goal is to raise enough funds to allow the Tipton family to comfortably take care of Scarlette and not be faced with ANY financial burdens. We are also hoping that as Scarlette's story is spread to the masses we might find answers and with your donations cover the expense.

Despite all that Scarlette has gone through in her short life she continues to bring joy to all who see her incredibly precious smile!

My daughter had the opportunity to meet this incredible family while she happened to be at the Mayo Clinic for medical care at the same time Scarlette was there!  She contacted them via FB where we had been following them for a while, and wound up meeting them for dinner the night before a procedure Scarlette was about to undergo.  My daughter was touched and inspired by the positivity of this young family and by Scarlette, who in spite of all she had been through was sweet and always smiling!  I hope very much you choose to have them on your show, Ellen... I think you'll absulutely love them<3
