The Largest Table is AMAZING! Integrating our homeless and marginally-housed neighbors with local business professionals for lunch and conversation. Truly a unique model of sharing food around The Largest Table in the world!
Here is the link to the recent article in the Columbus Dispatch about The Largest Table weekly meal program in Columbus, Ohio -- the state capitol. There is also a video interview. Please consider this exceptionally worthy program, that changes people's lives, one meal at a time. This is NOT a soup kitchen! Instead, we "bridge the counter" and form relationships with our guests -- young and old, rich and poor, gay and straight, homeless and housed, etc. And we've been doing it for 10 years, one meal at a time, 10,000 meals a year out of our little church kitchen that is run by some of the most loving, progressive Christian folks you ever wanted to meet! We are an Open and Affirming Church in the United Church of Christ, where whoever you are, and wherever you are on life's journey, you are welcome here -- NO exceptions! Our church LOVES ELLEN! And we are grateful for this opportunity to seek additional funding for a program that provides HOPE every week to our homeless and marginally housed neighbors, one meal at a time. Thank you! Rev. Virginia Lohmann Bauman, Sr. Pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ (Columbus, Ohio)

I am privileged to be one of the volunteer cooks for The Largest Table. Everything is done by our wonderful volunteers. The only payment we receive is a "god bless you" or "thank you" when we hand a tray of food to a homeless man or a mother struggling to feed her children. We could not do this without community support.
