Young Hero in Indiana fighting for LGBTQ with an amazing story you need to know <3
Description
Indiana needs a big beautiful Ellen bump! Help Indiana and our LGBTQ community -as well as everyone around the world heart emoticon
Hello Ellen, Portia and Staff:
I hope you've been following the debacle unfolding in Indiana and our fight for equal rights for ALL our citizens, especially our LGBTQ family. There is an amazing young man I feel you should know about. He is truly inspiring and a tireless voice for human rights. His name is Jackson Bianchard. I think you will be very moved by his courage and inspiring work. AND..he's just a high school student!
Another key leader is Dominic Dorsey. He also is a tireless leader. A short example of his passion from the Saturday Rally FaceBook page:
"Let's be clear, fixing RFRA is just a step in the right direction. But it's still a band-aid to a larger gaping wound. We didn't need RFRA to legalize discrimination considering it's been made obvious to the world by (R) Rep. Brian Bosma that there are several cities in Indiana where discrimination has always been permissible (i.e. No Gays Allowed signs in the front windows of an establishment).
We MUST obtain a state law to prohibit discrimination in employment, housing, education and public accommodations on the basis of a person's sexual orientation or gender expression/identity. Protections of this caliber would essentially make our issues with RFRA moot for the most part.
However, this will not occur without a fight. Equal protections for the LGBT community is not on Mikey's agenda, remember? Never has been. Let's continue to dramatize the issue on a national level to become a higher priority on our Governor's "agenda".
Again, Repeal of RFRA is a stepping stone to the larger goal of statewide civil rights laws protecting the life, liberty and freedoms of all hoosiers!
So bring your signs. Bring your voice. Bring your kids! The movement is just beginning. We will together dismantle the tools of oppression and fix our state with each passing step!"

We've got a big rally planned for this weekend's big "Final Four" basketball tournament, which draws quite a crowd. Boy could we sure use the support of you and Portia.
Either way, thanks so much, and please keep us all in your thoughts. You are both such warmhearted examples of what human beings can be. heart emoticon
