Gastroparesis (gp) Awareness - A Penny For Your Thoughts
Description
Gastro-pa-whatsis?
Chances are that unless you or a loved one have been diagnosed with Gastroparesis you have never heard of it so it must be rare... right? An estimated 5 million people are affected with this disease. Most of us feel Invisible and Alone. Penny wanted to share her story to help Raven Walton get on the Ellen DeGeneres show, so she can help bring awareness about gp to a national level. Raven also suffers from gp. She is a 20 year old pageant winner and dancer that also teaches dance to young children. She has had 7 surgeries to date and can expect another every two years until/unless a cure is found. She has a gastric pacemaker in her abdomen. She says when she dances she feels no pain. Please help us get on the Ellen DeGeneres Show to help bring national attention to gp sufferers. At this time, there is no known cure. Thanks for your help.

Gastroparesis is making me face away from life, it is making me a ghost of society and blurring my vision of tomorrow. Help me and those like me before we vanish completely. Please share to show you care. Help Raven Walton, a fellow gp sufferer get to dance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to help bring awareness on a national level. View, vote and comment to help boost our numbers for gp awareness. We are not alone, but often feel alone. We must feed the fight 'cuz we can't feed ourselves.

Please help us help Raven get on Ellen's show to bring national attention to this horrible illness. We need comments and votes. Raven hopes (as do we all) that by getting to discuss this with Ellen, it will stimulate the medical community to increase their research and hopefully find a cure for gp. As of yet, there is not a cure. In fact, even most doctors do not fully grasp the scope of symptoms that gp patients deal with on a daily basis. We are fighting for awareness here. Please help.

Exactly like this! You feel as though you are slowly exiting from your own life! And I am fortunate! I have a family and care team who are supporting me through this battle with Gastroparesis, mitochondrial, Sjogren's and colon inertia with chronic intestinal pseudo obstruction! Others have lost their friends, families, and all semblance of a life or suppport system! Who wants to hang with someone who can't eat, has no energy, is never dependable and can't be far from a bathroom ever? How much fun is that? We need help? Not to be hidden away until we pass away!
