I have known Raven for a year or two now. We met through pageants. She is such a bright light and has the uncanny ability to fill any room with love and laughter. Raven strives daily to provide awareness of gastroperesis. She competes in the swimsuit portion of pageants bearing every scar. Raven utilizes social media, too, in hopes of raising more awareness. She shed light on this issue even for me. I had no clue what it was, and now, I'm seeing an outpouring of support on a Facebook event she has started. In just days, #ellendancewithraven has garnered the support of a local news station, NFL player D.J. Williams, and so many people living life with gastroperesis. Many support her in this endeavor to promote "gp" on the Ellen Show, and I am one of them. Of all people, Raven deserves this. As many people she has encouraged and informed now, she'll reach even more on national television. Who knows? She might even gain the support of donors to finding a cure for gp.
