Ellen--here is my story. We really want you to come to our cancer fighting event. #EllentoECRelay
My name is Annie Meuch and I am a co-chair for Elmhurst College's Relay for Life. Relay for Life is an event that raises money in honor of the American Cancer Society. We strive to make more birthdays.
I have been on the committee for two years now. Last year was my first year, but I was not able to see the event I had worked so hard to put together. My dad was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer the summer before my freshman year of college. I joined the Relay Committee that year in hopes to find a cure for cancer. I wanted my dad to walk the survivor lap so that I could give him a huge hug and tell him how much I love him and how proud I was that I could call him dad. As his health declined, the more nervous I was that my dad wouldn't be able to walk that lap.
My dad died a few days before the event from cancer and his funeral coincidentally landed on the same day as the event. This year I want to make it great. I am dedicating my hard work to my dad. I want this to be the best Elmhurst College Relay for Life event yet. We are hoping you can come to our event to make this year extremely special. Thanks Ellen!!
